I am not so sure what to think about this CAN. I will be stating the obvious: 1. Too many big names, too many individual starts playing for new contracts. Big hype AS USUAL, do not make a team stronger. The formula works against weaker teams, then disasters start hitting. Number 1 is Cote D'Ivoire. 2. West African football is not better than Northern African football. No big stars, but team players. 3. With defenses as weak as the one we saw, it will be difficult for any African team to reach the second round of the WC. Look at Cote d'Ivoire, the favorite of the tournament, 8 goals in 2 games. Just incredible. 4. Egypt, with all the local players, is still the best, win or loose against Cameroon. 5. The tournament has been so far a huge disappointment. 1 more game for this CAN 2008.
