Wenger salutes Toure and Eboue

Arsene Wenger the Arsenal manager has given special praise to Cote d’Ivoire and Arsenal defenders Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue ahead of his team’s European Champions League semi final clash with Villareal at Higbury on Wednesday.

Ivorians Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure form part of a quartet that have helped Arsenal set a new Champions League record of eight straight clean sheets.

The quartet have resisted everything that Real Madrid and Juventus have thrown at them and further resistance against Villarreal in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at Highbury on Wednesday could propel the Gunners into the Champions League final.

Wenger said of the quartet, “The ingredients are there. They have the qualities to do as well as their predecessors.”

Wenger said of Toure, “He has done it very well and has the quality to compliment every centre-back he plays with.

He went on to say that the Ivorian attitude is fantastic and he gives 100% in training every time.

It is either going to be glory in the Champions League or glory in Germany — Toure and Eboue I guess are going for it now rather than later. [...]
