Player Profile - Kanga Akale

Kanga Akale, the speedy 25 yr old midfielder started his footballing career with Stella Abidjan.

He joined Swiss outfit FC Sion in Switzerland in 1998 and then with FC Zurich in 1999. He soon became a prolific scorer in the Swiss league.

In 2002 he joined French side Auxerre where has has played since then.

The Ivorian international is best remembered for scoring the winning goal that took the Elephants to the World cup finals in the 3-1 win over Sudan.

His pace is likely to trouble a lot of defenders and is one of the main supply lines for star man Didier Drogba and his contribution in Germany is likely to prove crucial to their chances of progression.
