Nice gift for World Cup qualification

February 13th, 2006 | By: Ade Lamidi | 1 Comment »

Each Cote d’Ivoire player that was part of the squad that qualified for the World Cup got a house each as a gift from President Laurent Gbagbo.

The team who were runners up at the recently concluded African Nations Cup got the surprise gift when they visited the president in his palace after their last World cup qualifying game against Sudan late last year.

That must have been a good incentive and I can only imagine what the players will get from the president if they do the unthinkable and win the World Cup.

I know the possibility of that happening is a long shot but who knows, a palace each might be up for grabs.

Wow, that is quite the gift. I wonder what they will get if they win the World Cup!
