Ivorian duo star in grand finale at Higbury

May 7th, 2006 | By: Ade Lamidi | 1 Comment »

Ivorian defenders Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue were both impressive in Arsenal’s final game at Higbury stadium. In a highly emotional match in which the Arsenal fans where all decked out in red and white, Arsenal beat Wigan Athletic 4-2 to claim the final Champions League spot for next season.

Both players will be hoping for another impressive display in defence when Arsenal take on Barcelona in the Champions League final in Paris on May 17. They will have the likes of Barcelona’s Eto’o, Ronaldinho and Deco for company.

Go the Gunners! Im an Arsenal supporter myself and it was a very fitting tribute to Highbury, especially with Henry scoring a hattrick. Both Toure and Eboue have been awesome this season, Eboue especially since he came in to fill Lauren’s spot. Ive really been impressed with him. Two top players who should have a good World Cup.
