Henri Michel ‘not getting carried away’ after taming the Lions

February 5th, 2006 | By: Ade Lamidi | No Comments »

Henri Michel, the Cote d’Ivoire coach has urged his young team not to get carried away by the extraordinary win over Cameroon. He believes their semi-final match against the Nigerians will once again put his team in the spotlight and they will have to prove once again that they are worthy of a World Cup place in Germany.

However, Michel is pleased that the win over the Indomitable Lions will have answered their critics who felt that Cameroon would have done a better job in Germany.

Ivorians were in jubilant mood yesterday, as the Government run south and the rebel controlled north poured into the streets to celebrate the win over the Lions.

Michel is happy with the part himself and his team are playing, bringing joy to the people of Cote d’Ivoire who have suffered both socially and economically over the years, and whose only source of happiness is football.

It’s glad to see the beautiful game uniting a nation in despair.
