Drogba dreams of grand finale
It is always a dream of any player to lift a tournament trophy and Didier Drogba, captain of the Cote d’Ivoire team is no different. He said he will be proud to score and lift the African Nations Cup in today’s final against the hosts Egypt.
Drogba has been vital to the Elephants run in the African Cup of Nation, notably scoring the decisive penalty against Cameroon in the quarter-finals. And then scoring the only goal that beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the semi-final.
So it is no surprise that he’d be proud to win the African Nation Cup because winning the continent’s biggest football prize will bring the recognition that comes just below the World Cup.
The Elephants striker who was also on target against Morocco and Libya in the group stages will stick to his normal routine against the Egyptians. And that is to lead from the front by communicating with the rest of the team.
