Cote d’Ivoire V Chile preview

Cote d’Ivoire will take on Chile tonite in their second warm up match in a matter of days.

They drew 1-1 against Switzerland on Saturday in what turned out to be a very entertaining match. I got an opportunity to see the highlights of that game yesterday and I was impressed with the quality of play of the Ivorians. They caused the Swiss a lot of problems in the second half.

Their style of play reminds me of that of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The Ivorians have very huge players and their strength alone will cause the opposition a lot of problems. They also counter attack quickly.

They face a different proposition in Chile tonite. I expect Henri Michel to start with his first -choice XI that would most likely face the Argentinians in the first group game.

Of course the Chileans play a similar style to Argentina and it will be interesting to see how Cote d’Ivoire tackle the distinctive South American style of play.

Possible 4-4-2 starting XI

GK TIZIE
DEFENCE EBOUE KOUSSAI K TOURE BOKA

MIDFIELD FAE ZOKORA Y TOURE AKALE

STRIKERS DROGBA KALOU
