Cote d’Ivoire must learn from the Argentina game
Cote d’Ivoire players must pick themselves up and take positives from the game against Argentina.
Nobody will remember the brave Ivorians who battled hard against the Argentinians when the World Cup is over. In the World Cup you have to create chances and score goals to be successful. Statistics will show that Cote d’Ivoire had a lot of the play but the bottom line is they lost the game.
They now have a few days to get it right on the pitch and be prepared for the Dutch on Friday. That is a must win game especially as the Dutch beat Serbia and Montenegro today.
It would be very tough I suppose but in the Group of Death there are no easy games.

I agree Abe. Its definitely a must win situation against the Dutch. They must capitalize on their opportunities unlike they did in the game vs Argentina.

We dont want to be the team that played well but lost all its games. Nobody remember losers. This is a crucial game. This is the game of our lives. we must give our hearts and soul and leave it on the field. As far as I am concerned we can win both of our last games. Comme on dit au pays: ” premier gahou n’est pas gahou, c’est deuxieme qui est…….(well u know the rest)

Come listen to some of Ivory Coast supporters awesome songson this page: http://www.myspace.com/ivorycoastworldcup and show some respect to one of the strongest team in this cup.

Ade, you are very right. Ivory Coast is representing the whole of Africa. Their success is needed for the sake of African football. Ivory Coast needs to learn a lot from Argentina. Argentina showed the maturity, discipline and the art of clinical finishing. There were not much difference in the performance of the two teams in that game, but nobody will remember Ivory Coast for being in Argentinian penalty area several times. Ivory Coast must learn from Argentina. Even from a single corner, Argentina was putting immense pressure. Ivory Coast got several corners, but all were innocent, worthless, harmless.
It’s no use if you come to penalty area time and again, but can not score. Keita missed one chance. Bonaventure Kalou missed at least three good chances. His shots were mostly directed towards the innocent spectators. His ambition was probably to hurt the spectators than to score goals. He had great difficulties to find the goal posts. Only once in the entire match he headed the boll towards the goal. At that time it was a straight head towards the Argentinian goalkeeper.
If this performance continues, Ivory coast will exit the tournement this friday. I and many other supporters will then be extremely sad. Ivory Cost needs to practice the following:
- Strict discipline, no yellow and red cards.
- Defence errors under pressure must be avoided. Extensive practice during this week is required to face Holland.
- Clinical finishing is required. It is not enough to be in the penalty area. Nobody will remember it. Capitalise the chances that appear during the match.
- All Ivory coast players must practice shooting towards the goal extensively during this week before they face Holland. You can not afford to shoot at the innocent spectators.
- Stop playing worthless, innocent football. If you are in the penalty area, you will have to achieve something out of it. Football is about scoring goals.
I hope coach Michell sits with the players immediately, go through the team’s weaknesses and create a strategy to win friday’s match against Holland.

interresting comments sukumar. But the Holland team will not be easy to beat with van der sar in goal and a good defencive line. There attackers and midfielders will cause problems in your box, and dont forget, they are an amazing team, they beat cameroon 1-0, and they have similar qualities to the ivorian players, atleast, thats what i saw in qualifying. Not an easy game, and i cant wait till the kick off. cheers

I hope the Ivorian COACH has realised that Dindane is the only key to rescue the ELEPHANTS OF AFRICA and the players should realise that they are there represent their country , so they should’nt be scared of the so called ” Big Countries”, otherwise they got everything they have to compete in this World Cup.

For those of you that wathed the CAF in feb. Bakary Kone is the solution. That dude is fast …they should pair him with D.D ……
