Cote d’Ivoire draw 1-1 with Chile
Cote d’Ivoire have drawn their second game with Chile 1-1 in Vittel France.
The rain soaked match saw Cote d’Ivoire start well with Didier Drogba getting the first serious chance, a free kick from 25m slightly on the left, perfectly placed but the right-footed strike that went over the bar.
Chile also had a few chances but Cote d’Ivoire otherwise dominated the first half getting the better of chances but nothing to show for it.
The second half was more livelier and Cote d’Ivoire got their due reward when Chilean defender Miguel Pinto handled in the box. Aruna Didane stepped up to convert the penalty on 72 minutes.
However, the Chileans pressed forward and Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Didier Zokora was sent off for a second bookable offence.
The Chileans also hit the post and converted a second penalty in the game through Humberto Suazo on 77 minutes.
The Cote d’Ivoire team started the game was as follows :-
J. Tizié
Emmanuel Eboué
Blaise Kouassi
Kolo Touré
Arthur Boka
Aruna Koné
Yaya Touré
Didier Zokora
Ndri Romaric
Abdul KadirKeita
Didier Drogba
My verdict – Cote d’Ivoire need to start winning.

[...] Cote d’Ivoire 1 – Chile 1 Aruna Dindane converted a penalty kick for the Elephants in the second, but mere minutes later Humberto Suazo got the equalizer for Chile. I’m kind of hoping that Cote d’Ivoire is taking it easy in these friendlies since I’ve tapped them to advance from the Group of Death and I would hate for them to make me look bad. That happens all too often as it is. [...]

I agree. they played a strong match, even with 10 men. To bad there were no goals scored, except by penalties. And this was the first time they played a south american team, so they did pretty well. they could have won.
