Cote d’Ivoire 3-0 Slovenia

June 4th, 2006 | By: Ade Lamidi | 1 Comment »

Cote d’Ivoire beat Slovenia 3-0 in their last friendly match before the World Cup. A brace from Didier Drogba in the space of two minutes and a third from Kanga Akale saw off the Slovenians.

I am pleased with this result as the Ivorians had drawn their previous two matches. And I am happy we have no more friendlies as we can now all focus on the real thing.

Friendlies are ok but they can’t be compared with the pressure and intensity of World Cup games.

The Ivorians now head to Germany and next up is Argentina next Saturday.

Over the next week I will attempt to blog about how the Ivorians will approach that match and the rest of the World Cup.
