Club bestmates but World Cup rivals

March 3rd, 2006 | By: Ade Lamidi | No Comments »

Watching the Cote d’Ivoire V Spain game last Wednesday, I couldn’t help but observe the fact that four Arsenal players were involved in the game.

For Cote d’Ivoire, Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue and for Spain Antonio Reyes and Cesc Fabregas. Well, for these players, it must have been like playing in training against each other but in fact they were all putting on their country colours.

They might all be best mates at club level but as far as the World Cup is concerned they are rivals.

I wonder what the Spanish duo would have said to their Ivorian counterparts after winning the game.
